Located in a more residential area of Shimokita while still only being a few minutes walk from the bustling Shimokitazawa station area. Quiet, rooms are nice and staff is kind and helpful. Shared lobby with a nice cafe frequented by neighborhood locals, it's a good hotel to relax at while not being far from a couple train stations and plenty to do

The area is fantastic. The hallways aren’t the most beautiful and the rooms were very simple with not much character, however they weee functional. The windows didn’t open and could get stuffy.

Located in a residential neighbor near vibrant area of coffee houses, small bars, restaurants and retail that attract 20s-30s year old Japanese. Very quiet in morning with few places to eat until later in the morning. The exceptions are coffee shop at hotel opens at 7 a.m. and Brooklyn Roasting Company, with a nice breakfast, opens at 8 a.m. Hotel attracts foreign tourists.

The Mustard Hotel offers a very unique stay that you won't forget. My wife and I greatly enjoyed renting records to play in our room. The staff was very friendly and patient with our basic japanese. Our room was on the smaller side, but not too bad for Tokyo. Overall a very fun experience near some awesome areas in Shimokitazawa!

Great property, staff very helpful and friendly. Rooms basic but functional. Stayed here 9 nights in total. Nice coffee shop onsite and lovely decked terrace, a very sociable spot for local community and dog walkers, a bonus, if like me you love dogs. Thought record players in rooms a bit pointless, esp as not much space, minor gripe. Would def stay again.

It was a great home base to retreat to after a day of exploring Tokyo. I wish there were more amenities for the price point but knew ahead of time that the area around it outweighed the minimalism of the hotel room. Very accommodating staff and a lovely tea/coffee place in the lobby. Worked out well for our large group.

Loved this hotel due to the area. So many great shops around and easy access by train. The rooms were clean, however the walls had a a=lot of scratch marks on them and could have been better presented. Also would have loved bottled waters in the room. But staff were extremely nice and the location was amazing

Great vibe and an awesome neighborhood. Rooms need some updating and deeper cleaning, but overall comfortable. The lobby/coffee shop, bar, and outdoor deck are all fantastic — great place to hang out after a day of exploring.
